Dance and music has always been the most thrilling and fun part of wedding receptions. Once the cake is cut and toasts are exchanged, everybody looks forward to the hoedown on the dance floor. The moment you switch on the music tunes, all the dance enthusiasts – be it aging uncles or giggling toddlers – make it to the dance floor shaking their bodies in ways you did not think possible. If you are blessed with such a gang of vigilant guests, make sure you have a photographer that knows how to “get in the groove” and capture these amazing images. Miami marriage photography has a special preference for traditional dances; but let your wedding photos/album also feature the glory of the epic dancing taking place at your reception.
A lot of the magnificent dancing that takes place at a wedding reception is contributed by glamorous dance floors, lights and the overall ambiance of the venue. While deciding on your venue, always consider if there is proper room for a decent dance floor. Ask your wedding coordinator to make special arrangements for dancing including high pitch speakers, proper sound system and club lighting. Once the basic rituals are over, you can switch off the extra lights and transform your venue into a full fledged night club.
Capturing the dancing at a reception is a little bit different than capturing the rest of the wedding. First, make sure your wedding photographer is equipped with the proper gear to take photos in dim lighting situations. You don’t want ghostly, blurry, silhouetted images in your wedding photos. Proper flash and fill lights are required to capture images in low light scenarios. On the other hand, the photographer has to be skilled enough not to ruin the “feel” of the scene with too much light.
Often dance floors are wide and some dance groups occupy the whole width of it. To capture such floors, one needs a wide angled lens that can capture the entire panoramic scene. Inquire with your photographer on such grounds before making a deal. Many wedding photographers in Miami claim to be efficient in capturing reception dances. Evaluate their portfolios critically to make the best choice possible.
Capturing the right moments on the dance floor is just as tricky as capturing the right kind of emotion throughout the wedding day. The photographer has to have an eye for the image. He needs to be very alert and attentive so that he does not miss “the perfect moment”. Random dancing at wedding receptions often feature people with a mixed bag of emotions and responses. Some are self-conscious, some eye others to follow moves, and some wear elated expressions and dance in pure joy (as if no one is really watching…lol). It is a matter of a few timely clicks that can make this portions of your wedding photos look fabulous.
