Many couples, now days, prefer a documentary style photography on their weddings i.e. a sequence of photographs that tells a complete story about the event. Though it is always important to cover the lead characters – bride and groom along with their immediate families – in photographs, a wedding event story is never complete unless it speaks a word about the reactions of the guests, how much fun people had and what was the level of their interest and affection towards the couple. Sometimes group reactions shots make perfect spontaneous images because people do not expect the camera will find them when something important is happening elsewhere. Many wedding photographers in Miami have their assistants with cameras to grab some rare shots among the guests while the main man focuses on the leads.
Many photographers won awards capturing the timely reactions in their cameras during wedding ceremonies. A tear down the eye, a raised eyebrow, a rolling eye, a twisted smile, an amused curve and many such reactions that last for seconds make the kind of images people love to see. However, these shots are very tricky and test the nerves of the photographer. Often wedding photographers have to wait considerably before one such image is captured.
People are pretty much used to seeing the photographs featuring couples cutting cakes or feeding each other. However, rarely someone bothered to photograph the amusement of guests witnessing the newlyweds playing the rituals. One such award winning photo features a group of guests wide mouthed, stunned as the groom smudges the cake on bride’s cheek instead of letting her take a bite. True momentarily reactions capture the real essence of the moment with a click.
Some beautiful worth capturing reactions are witnessed when someone close to the bride – usually father or brother – delivers an emotions loaded speech at the ceremony. Such moments make the guests sappy and different reactions are popped out. Some smile, some burst into tears, some gasp with emotions. If an alert photographer manages to capture these emotions, the wedding album will be a treat to watch.
Guests at large wedding receptions are no less than a haphazard crowd. Different people respond differently in different situations. Where a gesture can make some people smile, it can make others frown at the same time. Though Miami wedding photographers are skilled and experienced, yet you need a highly vigilant and watchful photographer if you want some amazing group shots in your wedding album.
There is another aspect you must consider before signing a deal with your photographer. A single photographer can never focus on the lead scene as well as the guests simultaneously. You certainly would not want him to miss your vows while he focuses on a spell bound teenager or a fantasy ridden maid at the event. If you want such shots – which add a distinct and beautiful color to your album – you must make sure your photographer comes with an assistant who is equally skilled at camera.
